Financial Security Work: Schilling has been the Dollars During Development (3D) work-group chair since 2015, organizing work-group agendas & coordinating activities to plan, write, and disseminate Parent Guides (used in a partnership with the Bureau of Consumer Finance’s Money as You Grow Bookshelf Program) and Parent Letters for children’s books that teach money concepts. Schilling has coordinated and contributed to the writing of three conference proposals and presentations: “Dollars During Development: Teaching Children Essential Money Skills” taught at the 2018 All Colleague , the 2018 Wisconsin Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Annual Conference, and “Money as You Grow” at the 2019 Wisconsin Association for Public Librarians Annual Conference. Locally, Schilling has partnered with the A+ After-School Program & Summer Camp from 2017 to 2019 to teach 3D classes to K – 1st graders in the Wautoma School District. She also teaches a series of Financial Capability Workshops to adults in Waushara County, teaches financial coaching to adults including Treatment Court participants, and leads the Dual County Financial Wellness Coalition which organized the 2019 Money Smart Week in Green Lake and Waushara counties.
