Episode 4: Interview with Stephanie Moulton

This episode’s interview is with Dr. Stephanie Moulton.

Dr. Moulton is a professor and the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research in the John Glenn
College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University, a faculty affiliate of the Center for
Financial Security at the University of Wisconsin, and a visiting scholar at the Philadelphia
Federal Reserve Bank. Dr. Moulton specializes in the design, implementation, and evaluation of
housing and consumer finance policies and programs, with an emphasis on vulnerable
populations. She has published more than 40 journal articles, a book, and several book
chapters, with her research being featured in news outlets such as The New York Times, The
Wall Street Journal, Consumer Reports, Bloomberg, and The Washington Post. She has served
as principal investigator for numerous studies related to consumer finance, with funding from
entities including the U.S. Social Security Administration, the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Russell Sage
Foundation, and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling.

We discuss Dr. Moulton’s research project titled “The COVID-19 Pandemic and Older Adults’
Employment and Economic Security: Insights from Earnings and Credit Panel Data.”
