What We Do

CFS is a research center that conducts top notch financial research examining the role of products, policies, and advice in helping households deal with personal financial issues. From this research, we develop evidence-based strategies to promote financial security. By sharing these strategies with policymakers and financial practitioners, we seek to strengthen the financial well-being for individuals at all stages of life.

Our work revolves around four main areas:

Research and Evaluation

CFS works with a range of national organizations to research financial issues impacting today’s society.

Project Implementation

In addition to conducting cutting-edge research, CFS also works with organizations providing consulting services on the implementation of their own projects.

Dissemination and Education

CFS disseminates research and program findings through multiple ways, including webinars, a listserv, events, publications, newsletters, as well as trainings and education sessions.

Retirement and Disability

The Retirement and Disability Research Center is an applied research program which develops evidence that can assist policymakers, the public, and the media in understanding issues in Social Security, retirement, and disability policy.
