US-DeptOfTheTreasury-SealBorrow$mart is a project to evaluate the impact of an enhanced online financial counseling tool called, developed by the Ceannate Corporation.  In order to assess its impact, results will be compared to those obtained from the existing Department of Education pre-loan counseling model. The critical questions at hand are (1) whether enhancing the version of entrance counseling that students receive makes any detectable difference in borrowing, and (2) whether counseling is associated with higher rates of credit completion and continued enrollment in college?

Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, CFS has been working in the project since October of 2014.
