Exploring the Intersection Between Financial

 Capability and Domestic Violence

Workshop Hosted by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Social Security Administration, and the UW-Madison Center for Financial Security
May 17, 2011
Washington, DC

The Workshop on Exploring the Intersection between Financial Capability and Domestic Violence began a discussion on the interaction of domestic violence and financial capability.  The intention of the meeting was to bring together researcher, practitioners, policy makers, and others from various fields to have a deep and rich exploration of the intersection of financial capability and domestic violence over the life course.  The discussion was an important step toward shaping a blueprint for future research in this area, particularly research that can inform practice and policy, and will also stimulate ideas and partnerships toward improving current practice and policy.

For an overview of the key take-aways from the workshop, CFS Project Assistant, Leah Gjertson composed a brief detailing the major results from Exploring the Intersection between Financial Capability and Domestic Violence.
